Among the many skiers from all over the North Island and some from the South Island who visited Mount Ruapehu last week-end were a party from Wellington representing 10 nations. Most of those from Continental countries could speak at least three languages. Mr Michael Tartier, the Rumanian instructor in charge ot the party, had a repertoire of more than 10 tongues.. The party included men and women from Rumania, Austria, Russia, the Ukraine, Italy, Greece, Czechoslovakia, Britain, Australia, and New Zealand.
