(Rec. 7 p.m.) SYDNEY, July 20. The New Zealand badminton champion, J. Robson, was in brilliant form when the New Zealand team beat New South Wales by 8 games (145 aces) to 2 games (82 aces) at Newcastle. Robson beat H. Impey, 21-1. There was a big surprise in the mixed doubles, however, when Robson and Mrs Robson were beaten, 15-12, by Impey and Mrs C. Sciffer.
Results:— Women’s Doubles.—Mrs Robson and Miss D. Bosher v. Mrs Sciffer and MisS J. Single, 15-9, 15-2. Men’s Singles—Robson v. Impey, 21-1. Mixed Doubles.—A. L. Scott and Miss Bosher v. T. McKeon and Mrs A. Bird, 15-6, 7-15.
Mixed Doubles.—J. Robson and Mrs Robson v. Impey and Mrs Sciffer, 12-15, 15-10.
Women’s Singles.—Miss Bosher v. Miss Single, 15-7.
Men’s Doubles.—Robson and Scott v. K. Bevan and McKeon, 15-6, 15-11.
