TRAP SHOOTING

BELFAST CLUB ! The monthly shoot of the Belfast Gun Club was held at the club’s grounds, Wainak road, Belfast, in good weather. Seven matches were decided, and some good shooting was seen. Results:—

First Match (five targets off handicap marks). —Those with possibles were J. Bell. A. Thomson, T. Everett, J. Boyce, C. D. Bailey, S. Tattle, S. Inwood. J. Simpson, A. Prestney, and B. Begg.

Second Match (10 targets off handicap marks).—All on were C. J. Inwood, N. Inwood, G. Bell, A. Thomson, H. Cromie, T. Everett, and I. Boyce. Those with one down were A. J. Lancaster, J. Smith, F. Rouse, C. D. Bailey, S. Tattle, S. Inwood, and B. Begg.

Third Match (10 targets off handicap marks). —Possibles were shot by C. J. Inwood, J. Bell, J. Smith, T. Everett, and I. Boyce. One down were A. J. Lancaster, A. Thomson, S. Tattle, S. Inwood, and B. Begg. Fourth Match (double rise of 10 targets).—A. Thomson shot the possible, second and third placings going to S, Inwood with 9 and H. Cromie with 8. Fifth Match (10 target Gimcrack).—Possibles were shot by C. J. Inwood and J. Bell and B. Begg. One off were A. J. Lancaster, A. Thomson, I. Boyce, C. D. [Bailey, and 9. Tattle. Sixth Match (10 targets off handicap I marks).—A. Thomson again scored a possible, all first barrel. Those with one i down were I. Boyce, C. D. Bailey, S. Tattle, F. Rouse, G. Vallance, • and H. Cromie.

Final Match (first miss out). —The winner was A. Thomson on the tenth target. Messrs A. Lancaster and C. J. Inwood were referees.

NORTH CANTERBURY GUN CLUB

Conditions were good when the North Canterbury Gun Club held a shoot on Saturday. There was a good attendance. A five target eye-opener was divided by R. T. Whitham, C. D. Bailey, M. D. Bailey, C. H. Rowsell, V. Luisetti, M. B, Tattle, and T. A. Everett.

In the main match of 15 targets, C. D. Bailey, I. Boyce, Rowsell, and Tattle tied with possibles and divided the prize money. A 10-target sweepstake was divided by P. Kidd, Rowsell, Tattle, W. Counsel!, and Everett with possibles. A double rise of five pairs from a 14-yard rise resulted in G. E. Croft, Rowsell, Everett, and S. J. Lugg dividing the prize-money with eight breaks each. No possibles were scored. Whitham won a first miss-out match at the fourteenth round. The concluding match of 10 targets was divided by C. D. Bailey, A. G. Holmes, Rowsell, and Tattle, with possibles.
