Mr D. A. Robertson, of Wellington l , announced this week that he had resigned from the board of directors of the Shaw Savill and Albion Company, Ltd., and would resign from the position of general manager for New Zealand on October 1. —(P.A.) Hickford, of Taranaki, were elected vice-presidents, Mr J. J. Maher, M.P., was re-elected treasurer. and Messrs W. W. Mulholland, of Canterbury, and W. Horrobin and T. C. Brash, of Wellington, were coopted as members of the council of the federation.— (P.A.) Mr D. R. Thomson has been elected president of the Rotary Club of Christchurch for 1953-54 and Mr W. A. C. McDonald, vice-president. Messrs R. J. Daly, L. S. Johns, J. R. Johnston, C. C. Leitch and W. B. Turvey have been elected directors. Mr A. Manning was reappointed to represent the Canterbury Education Board on the Timaru High School Board at a meeting of the Education Board yesterday.

Mr G. N. Wells, engineering manager for Tasman Empire Airways, Ltd., has been appointed an associate fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society of Great Britain. He is the third member of the airline to receive this honour, which demands at least 15 years in the aviation industry. The others are Mr G. B. Bolt, the chief engineer, and Mr A. Jardine, the development and planning engineer.

Constable H. White, who has been attached to the motor accident branch of the central police station at Christchurch for the last four years, has received notice of his transfer to Kaniere. He will replace Constable J. D. Walker, who has been promoted to sergeant and transferred to Dunedin.
