WAIKATO FLOOD REPAIRS

STATE LOANS FOR FARMERS (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 17. Special advances at a low interest rate will be made available to farmers in the Waikato and surrounding districts who require financial assistance to restore their properties after the recent floods. The advances will be made through the Bank of New Zealand, and security for them will vary in individual cases, as agreed with the bank.

These arrangements were announced tonight by the Acting-Prime Minister (Mr K. J. Holyoake). Borrowers would be given a reasonable time—according to individual cases—within which to liquidate the advances, he said.
