BACTERIOLOGISTS’ CONFERENCE
Addresses and demonstrations were given at the ninth annual conference of the New Zealand Association of Bacteriologists, which concluded in Christchurch yesterday. After the conclusion of the conference, a cocktail party was held in the women’s common room in the Students’ Union building at Canterbury University Collage. On Thursday evening a conversazione was field in the pathology department of the Canterbury Public Hospital. In the histology section there was a historical display of equipment used for preparing diagnostic material from tissues removed from patients. In the bacteriology department were displays of bacteria causing infections in humans and animals. In the biochemistry department recent work on many advances in biochemistry was shown.
