N.Z. ICE SKATING CHAMPIONSHIPS
COMPETITORS FROM CANTERBURY Mr Eric Millton, secretary of the New Zealand Ice Skating Association, yesterday received a report from Cromwell that ice conditions there or the Dominion championship meeting were excellent and prospects for a successful gathering were bright. Local entrants for the women’s championship to be held on Saturday include Misses S. Grigg, Jeanette Wilson, Lyn McDonald, Rona Dickson, and Lyn Withey. Misses Grigg, Wilson, and McDonald will also compete in the dancing event, and others taking part in this competition will be Mrs Ivan Wood, Mrs M. Campbell, Misses E. Buchanan, J. Price, and J. Paterson.
A match, to be played at Alexandra, has been arranged between the Canterbury Ice Skating Club’s hockey team and the Oturehua team.
