WOMEN’S DIVISION OF FEDERATED FARMERS

Canterbury North Provincial Executive.—The first meeting of the Canterbury North Provincial Executive of the Women's Division of Federated Farmers was held in Rangiora recently. The president (Mrs M. D. Frizzell), read a resolution of loyalty, to the Queen, and the National Anthem was sung. The following delegates were elected to attend the Dominion conference in Auckland on July 14: the president, the vicepresident (Miss J. Smith), and the housekeeping secretary (Mrs R. O. Bowman). It was agreed that meetings of the executive be held the first Friday in the months of May, July, August, October December and March, and that the October meeting be held In Oxford and the March meeting in Balcairn. Several remits for the conference were discussed. A vote of thanks was passed to the Rangiora branch for supplying the afternoon tea, and the meeting closed with the division song. fiouthbrook-Flaxton.—Mr Russell Stalker,

was the guest speaker at the June meeting of the Southbrook-Flaxton branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers. His subject was a recent visit to the United States. A competition was won by Mrs J. J. Hughey. The monthly competitions resulted as follows:—large bloom: Mrs E. T. Allen 1, Mrs M. C. Scoltock 2, Mrs N. Archer and Mrs C. Atkinson (equal) 3. Small bloom: Mrs Scoltock 1. Mrs A. Henderson and Mrs D. Matheson (equal) 2, Mrs Allen 3. Spike: Mrs Scoltock 1, Mrs Atkinson 2, Mrs C. Kolkman 3. Cluster: Mrs Henderson 1, Mrs R. Dunlop 2, Mrs B.
