DAIRY CATTLE TROPHY

CORNISH WOMAN’S GIFT

Miss Esme Bulkeley, of Tregallast Barton. St. Keverne, Cornwall, who has financial interests in Chirstchurch, has given £75 for a dairy cattle trophy to the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association. Miss Bulkeley runs a herd of Guernseys herself and suggested that the trophy be given for this breed but, learning that competition is not strong, sjie agreed to a proposal that it be awarded for a. trio of dairy cattle from the four main breeds in New Zealand. Three females from one to three years old among registered dairy cattle will compete, not among all breeds, but by the award of the trophy in each section in rotation.

The general committee of the association expressed special appreciation of this gesture from so far away at a meeting on Wednesday.
