APPEAL COURT RESERVES DECISION

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 10. The Court of Appeal today concluded its five-day hearing of the investigation into the title of the bed of the Wanganui river between the tidal limit at Raorikia and the junction of the Wanganui and Wakapapa rivers above Taumarunui. The investigation, which was authorised by a special section of the Maori Purposes Act, 1951, began last Mondav morning. The Court, which consisted of Mr Justice Northcroft, Mr Justice Hutchison, Mr Justice Cooke, Mr Justice Adams, and Mr Justice North, reserved its decision. The Solicitor-General (Mr H. E. Evans, Q.C.) and Mr E. J. Houghey appeared for the Crown, and Mr F. C. Spratt and Mr C. K. Stone appeared for the Maoris concerned in the investigation.
