SOVIET AND THE WEST

“Co-operation Possible”

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON, June 22. The Soviet Communist Party newspaper “Pravda,” today declared that “peaceful existence and co-operation between Socialist and capitalist systems is fully possible,” the Moscow Radio reported. Writing on the twelfth anniversary of the German attack on Russia “Pravda” said that such co-operation was possible “when there is a desire for co-operation between the two sides, preparedness to carry out accepted obligations, maintaining the principle of equality and not interfering in other nations’ affairs.”

The newspaper added: “This is a real and possible thing proved during World War II when a coalition of the Soviet Union, the United States, Great Britain and France won a victory over the aggressive Fascist bloc in spite of all the differences in economic and political systems.”
