GOVERNMENT SURVEY IN CHRISTCHURCH

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 22. A survey of social conditions c* elderly people in the Christchurch area is to be undertaken early next month. It will be similar to surveys already carried out at Auckland and Wellington, where a proportion of the aged were approached to learn the problems facing elderly people in those cities.

Trained officers of the Social Security Department would from July ® to July 10 interview a large number of elderly people, said the Minister of Social Security (Mr W. A. Bodkin’ tonight.
