NEW BRIGHTON DISTRICT
NAMES OFFICIALLY GIVEN DECISION OF CITY COUNCIL The names of New Brighton, North New Brighten and South New Brighton were endorsed by the City Council last evening. The Commissioner of Crown Lands will be advised accordingly. The council also resolved that Pleasant Point Pomain and Jellicoe Park be renamed South New Brighton Park, and that both areas be reserved for recreational purposes. The names kfor the district were approved by the New Brighton Business Association and the North New Brighton Residents’ Association. The South Brighton Progress League suggested the names of Brighton, North Brighton, and South Brighton. ~ league had also asked that the name South Brighton Park be used in place of Jellicoe Park and Pleasant Point Domain.
