The South Island Local Bodies’ Association will ask the State Hydroelectric Department what plans it has for power development when the present major schemes are completed. The executive decided this on Friday on the recommendation of Mr A. T. Newman (Southland Boroughs), who recalled that the association had been told at its conference at Greymouth that output from Roxburgh would be used by 1962.
