PRESENTATION TO MR O. J. DOIDGE
FORTY YEARS’ SERVICE IN RAILWAYS
Mr O. J. Doidge. District Engineer., New Zealand Railways, Christchurch, who will retire at the end of this month after 40 years’ service,, was the guest of honour at a social evening held in the Railway social hall at Kaikoura on Saturday. There was a large attendance, including representatives of the Parnassus-Picton section of the South Island main trunk railway staff, and visitors from Christchurch. The president of the Railway Social Club (Mr W. F. Schroder) presided. . j . A wristlet watch was presented to Mr Doidse by the senior staff member of the Maintenance Section (Mr G. H. McMillan), bridge inspector at Kaikoura.
