PRINCE AGA WINS STEEPLES (New Zealand Press Association) HASTINGS, June 21. After an unpromising start when the opening of the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club’s winter meeting at Hastings was delayed because of a difference of opinion between the jockeys and the committee on the condition of the course, the weather cleared after the third race, though the track continued to be heavy. The attendance was good. The double was won by Bordeaux and Sporting Ken for a dividend of £352 12s. The totalisator handled £40,242 10s, compared with £75,559 10s, a decrease of £35,317.
