General Murray To Take Command LONDON, June 10. The War Office today announced the appointment of Major-General Horatnis Murray, commander of the Northumbrian District and the 50th Northumbrian Infantry Division of the Territorial Army, to be commander of the Commonwealth Division in Korea, with effect from the autumn of 1953. He will succeed Major-General
Michael West, who took over in Korea last year. , General Murray, who is 50, was commander of the Ist Battalion of the Gordon Highlanders in the Western Desert, ana was wounded at El Alamein. He again saw action in command of the 153rd Infantry Brigade of the 51st Highland Division taking part in the invasion of Sicily in 1943, and Normandy in 1944. General Murray later went back to the Middle East to command the Ist Infantry Division and returned to Britain in 1951.
