REPORT ON ROADS

COUNTIES’ ASSOCIATION REPRESENTATIVES (New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, June IL The special committee set up by the New Zealand Counties’ Association to consider the report of the Reading Investigation Committee will be unable to prepare its detailed submissions to the Government in the time required. This was stated by the secretary of the association (Mr T. M. McKewen) at the annual conference today. He said the Government had appointed a committee to review the report and consider the comments received from interested parties. The association had now received a request from the secretary of the Government’s committee to submit the counties’ comments by next Wednesday. “It would be impossible to get our detailed submissions ready in time,” said Mr McKewen. “The conference approved his action in sending a telegram to the Minister of Works (Mr W. S. Goosman) saying that in view ol the request the association desired that its president (Mr W. A. Lee) should see Mr Goosman early next week.
