Twenty-four hours before the Coronation, London jed like a camping-ground this morning, as thousands ‘ n a roadside vigil to await tomorrow’s pageantry. | Ml the best vantage points on the procession route, L from the reserved wooden stands, were taken last L Today, it will be difficult to find a vacant place the five-mile route. Trains, buses and cars are bringing whole families to the of London, where they intend to stay until long after Coronation ceremony and procession. They are bringing , bags of sandwiches and other food, flasks of tea, rugs i raincoats. When the sightseeing crowds began their patrol of the arated streets, they found people rising after a night spent jir mattresses, blankets and ground sheets spread beneath trees in the Mall and under the fountains in Trafalgar ire. Little oil stoves were used to cook the campers’ ikfasts. fresh arrivals, bearing rucksacks covered with Union is, blankets and sleeping bags, came minute by minute.
