B.B.C. BROADCAST OF CORONATION

The biggest world link-up in radio history wili start at 5 a.m., G.M.T., today, when the British Broadcasting Corporation’s transmitters go on the air. From then on until after midnight, descriptions of crowds, eye-witness reports of the ceremony in Westminster Abbey, and the procession back to Buckingham Palace, and the Queen and her Prime Ministers’ broadcasts will be sent round the world in 42 different languages. The 8.8. C. will use every available transmitter and wave-length, and will have a team of 250 commentators and observers at its microphones. Two announcers will be in Westminster Abbey, and dotted along the procession route will be 80 more commentators’ points.

More than 400 sound and television circuits have been planned by engineers, and there will be 800 extensions for microphones, cuelights, and headphones.
