INQUEST ON DEATH OF MOTORIST

(From Our Own Reporter)

TIMARU, May 26. It seemed to be another clear case where drink and driving did not mix, said the Coroner (Mr M. M. Enting) at an inquest into the death of Vernon John Shea held in the Timaru Coroner’s Court today. He returned a verdict that Shea died from a fracture of the skull suffered in a motor accident on the Mount Cook highway near Waitawa on April 25. Evidence was given that Shea had drunk about 10 beers shortly before he had started to drive the car.
