APPEAL BY WASHDYKE TRAINER
The Washdyke trainer, E. J. Ellis, who was fined £5 by the judicial committee of the South Canterbury Jockey Club on May 16 for a breach of duty, has lodged an appeal against the decision. Canyon Maid and Infiltration, both trained by Ellis, were scratched for the Smithfield Hack Handicap at that meeting by order of the judicial committee because they had not been plated.
