YACHTING TROPHIES PRESENTED
Trophies won during the year were pre. sented at a dance’held by the Canterbury Yacht and Motor-boat Club in the Excelsior Hall on Saturday evening. The commodore of the club, Mr S. Mander, welcomed official guests, among whom were the Mayor of Lyttelton (Mr F. G. Briggs) and Mrs Briggs, Mr W. H, Beanland, president of the Canterbury Yachting Association, and Mrs Beanland, and the comvnodores of other clubs and their wives. Mr W. T. Lester, president of the club, presented a bouquet to the chairman of the women’s social committee of the club, Mrs R. Forsyth, and thanked her and the committee for the assistance given during the season. Trophies were presented by Mr Lester as follows:—E. O. Sinclair (Henderson cup, Brown memorial cup, Harry Brodie cup, W. J. Toomey memorial cup, Norris and Wearne barometer. Beryl Stacey trophy); A. W. Shields (J. Neville memorial cup); B. Bowater (Tuohey cup); P. Mander (Navy League cup, Tracey Gough cup); A. L. Sinclair (Varney cup, Elmer cup, Priddy cup, Foster cup); O. Reid (Norris cup); G..Mander (Cording memorial cup, Kennett memorial cup); J. H. Mackeries (junior Kennett cup); K. Norris (club cup, Moller cup, Forsyth cup, Collins memorial cup); B. McClusky (McMaster cup); D. Norris (Sargentina cup); G. Forsyth (club cup); D. Bryson (H. A. Rhind's trophy); J. Sinclair, sen. (Sinclair family memorial cup); D. Sinclair (second Sinclair memorial cup); Miss G. Lambert (Hobbs memorial cup); Miss F. White (Sutton cup); Alnsley Sinclair (Yvonne cup, C. M. Welsh cup); D. Adams (H, C. Smith cup).
