One member of every three who entered the services during the Second World War did not leave New Zealand and this large body had been completely ignored by the Government although 18-year-old trainees had been included in the Coronation contingent, said Mr K. L. Fisher, South Island vice-president of the New Zealand Homeservicemen’s Association, speaking at the annual meeting of the Christchurch branch. . Many iiomeservicemen served their country for the duration, and some longer, and they felt slighted at being overlooked in the contingent. Disappointment at not having an official representative was widespread, he said. The following officers were elected: president, Mr H. N. Whittaker; vicepresident, Mr W. C. J. Osman; women s vice-president, Mrs J. Logie; -immediate past-president, Mr P. A. Johnston; treasurer, Mr K. L. Fisher; secretary, Mrs I. R. Johnston; honorary auditor, Mr J. Roy Smith- rehabilitation representative, Mr C. J. G. Goode, committee, Messrs C. P. McEyedy, E. A. Osmond-Smith, W. Martin, W. Cooper, W. Stapleton, and Misses B. Wright, and J.
