Rare NX. Plant at Kew
Botanists in Britain have been keenly interested in the flowering at Kew of a rare New Zealand plant, Xeronema callistemon. The curator of the gardens, Mr W. M. Campbell, has written about the event to Mr J. A. McPherson, director of the Auckland City parks department, which in 1946 sent about 30 types of New Zealand flora to replenish Kew’s stocks.
