ADVERTISING PROMOTES THE AIMS OF A FREE SOCIETY Some people do not see in advertising anything moge than a means of influencing the buying habits of the general public, while this is true, it is only a fraction of the whole truth. Advertising is ,a major factor in keeping down the cost of living. By increasing Sales it makes possible eco? nomic mass production which results in lower prices. Apart from reducing prices, advertising raises living standards—releases purchasing power for other purposes and thus helps maintain full employment and an expanding economy in the community and the nation. Advertising brings you news of better products and better ways to use the things you buy ... it helps you spend wisely and well. New thoughts and original creations are the basis of development in all branches of industry ... by promoting this, advertising promotes industry and employment Advertising tells you where to get what you want when you want it—it brings news about special prices—saves you money every day by pointing out stores that have sales or special offers.
