MORE CLASHES ON KOREAN FRONT
“Highest Numbers In Many Weeks” <R®c- »-40 am.) SEOUL, May 14. Allied troops clashed with the Communists 34 times along the 133-mile Korean battle-front yesterday, an Bth Army briefing officer said today. This is the highest number of clashes fa many weeks. The heaviest action was around Texas Outpost on the central front, and Capitol Hill, on the east central front, where Chinese attackers and South Korean defenders were still engaged at dawn today. Surface craft for the second successive day pounded troops and installations north of Chodori, on the east coast, the Sth Air Force announced. Sabre jets fought with Communist MiG’s over North Korea early this morning, shooting down one ana probably destroying another.
