TIDELANDS OIL BILL
MEASURE GOES TO PRESIDENT ) WASHINGTON, May 13. The House of Representatives today completed Congressional action on the controversial Tidelands Oil Bill, and sent it to President Eisenhower for his promised signature. It accepted by 218 votes to 116 the Senate version of the legislation, which grants the States clear title to submerged lands and resources out to their historic boundaries.
Mr Eisenhower made a campaign pledge to sign such legislation into law, but the issue still might not be resolved finally for years because of a threatened Court fight by opponents of foe bill.
