CAR DEALER FINED
CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP i NOT NOTIFIED Hector James McLean, a car dealer, was fined £3 by Mr Rex C. Abernethy, S.M., in the Christchurch Magistrate’s Court yesterday for failing to notify the change of ownership of a motorcar. “We have quite a bit of trouble with some dealers," said Chief Patrol Officer P. Lunn, who prosecuted on behalf of the City Council’s traffic department. “They handle things so there is no record of them coming into the sale at all. They get the seller to sign the transfer papers and so they put the seller and the buyer in trouble.” “It’s the dealer you want, then?” asked the Magistrate. “It’s the dealer we have got,” replied Mr Lunn. j.
