Two members of the Canterbury Education Board were granted le8V ? yesterday morning—Mr A. Greenwooa because of ill-health, and Mr A. McNeil for a trip to Britain. Mr Greenwood expects to resume his place on June and Mr McNeil in November. Messrs D. Airey and M. J. Kilty recently passed the Quantity Surveyors Institute’s professional associate examinations, and Mr A. W. J. L Dickson passed the stage one examination. Messrs Harold Jacobs (New Brighton) and Mervyn Wormaid (Addington) will leave Christchurch this evening on the first stage of the journey to Kanderstag, Switzerland, to attend the fifth World Rover Scout moot Mr T. Guinn ssy, of the staff of the Mackenzie County Council, has been appointed overseer to the Kaikoura County Council. He will take up hit duties on June 1.
