TAXI FIRM TO SELL CABS
PREFERENCE TO STAFF MEMBERS
All taxis operated by the Gold Band Taxis will be sold, subject to the approval of the Metropolitan Licensing Authority. The cabs will be sold mainly to members of the staff, who will be given preference. This announcement has been made by the directors of the company, who said that the decision had been reached for policy reasons. Although preference would be given to long-term members of the staff, purchasers would be selected so that the present standard of service to the public would be maintained. “The organisation will operate on the same basis as before and the full radio-telephone service will be available,” the directors’ statement adds.
“The company will continue operating its 24-hour, seven-day-a-week service station and its rental car department as before.”
