SCHOOL INSPECTOR RETIRES

Mr M. F. O’Donoghue was entertained by the Canterbury Education Board on his retirement as an inspector yesterday morning. The chairman (Mr S. J. Irwin) said that Mr O’Donoghue had given worthy service to the board and to the Education Department. Other members praised his earlier teaching in Canterbury, The senior inspector (Mr J. F. Johnson) praised Mr O’Donoghue’s “loyalty, geniality, and fundamental decency.” Teachers, who now measured their success in the dignity of the human personality, could be proud of the integrity of their profession, Mr O’Donoghue %aid.
