EISENHOWER ILL

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 10 p.m.) NEW YORK, April 16. President Eisenhower has suffered a slight attack of food poisoning. Mr James Hagerty, Mr Eisenhower’s press secretary, said the attack became evident last night in Augusta, Georgia, as the President started to speak at the two-hundredth anniversary of North Carolina’s Rowan County. The attack did not interfere with Mr Eisenhower’s address to the audience of 12,000.

Mr Hagerty said Mr Eisenhower had slight fever, but did not want to cancel his engagements.
