STRAVINSKY’S MUSIC

Sir, —If a child is not born with a sense of harmony, but develops his own. according to the music he hears, where did the first harmony come from, if no-one has it in himself? God gave us talents of different sorts, which develop as we grow. Everyone has not the sense of harmony, but some may have a splendid talent for painting pictures. Where did the root of that come from? No root until he saw a picture or from our Great Father fn Heaven. We inherit some talents, but where did our forebears get them from?—Yours, etc., L.R.S.M.
