SIX DAUGHTERS OF PEERS
SELECTION OF MAIDS OF HONOUR Queen Elizabeth has decided that six maids of honour, not pages, will carry her train at the Coronation, according to an announcement bv the Earl Marshal (the Duke of Norfolk). In this decision the Queen is following the precedent set by Queen Vic-
toria for her own Coronation. One of the six maids of honour chosen by the Queen is Lady Rosemary Spencer-Churchill, daughter of the Duke of Marlborough, and a relative of Mr Winston Churchill. The others are_ Lady Anne Coke, the 21-year-old daughter of the Earl of Leicester; ’ Lady Mary BaillieHamilton, the 18-year-old daughter of fhe Earl of Haddington; Lady Jane Vane-Tempest-Stewart, daughter of the Marquess of Londonderry; Lady Jane Heathcote-Drummond-Willough-by, daughter of the Earl of Ancaster; and Lady Moyra Hamilton, daughter of the Marqyess of Hamilton.
