WAITIKIRI LADIES’ CLUB Miss M. Dunbar carried the flag to the nineteenth green in a flag match played bY} members of the Waitkiri Ladies’ Golf A bisque bogey match played on Tuesday resulted:— Mrs N. Robertson, 2 up; Mrs J. Johnston, 2 up: Mrs R. Casbolt, 2 up. AC grade competition was won by Mrs C. Watson on a count-back from Mrs D. Cheyne. KAIAPOI CLUB The opening day of the Kaiapoi Golf Club s season was held on Saturday with a foursome stroke handicap. The best scores were:— W. K. Kane and Mrs Kane, 92, 27—65; S. Midgley and Mrs Midgley, 85, 18—67; G. Baker and Miss Richardson. 87, 20— 67; R. Edwards and Mrs Edwards," 88. 21—67. CHRISTCHURCH LADIES’ CLUB A Ladies’ Golf Union medal match was played by,members of the Christchurch Ladies’ Golf Club at Shirley yesterday and on Tuesday. Results:— Silver Division.—Miss S. Grigg, 89, 17— 72; Mrs E. C. Vaughan, 90, 18—72; Miss V. Fleming. 77, 4—73; Mrs F. E. Twyford, 89, 16—73. Bronze Division.—Miss 13. Coop, 93, 23—70; Mrs W. Toomey, 90, 19—71; Mrs W. G. Mac Gibbon, 103, 31—72. AVONDALE LADIES’ CLUB The first round of the Avondale Cup and the mid-week Ladies’ Golf Union competition were played on Tuesday. Results were:— A Grade.—Mrs T. McCleary, 91, 20—71; Mrs C. B. McNatty, 89, 15—74; Mrs A. L. Large, 91, 15—76. B Grade.—Miss A. Hine, 96, 29—67; Mrs J. K. Logie, 98, 31—67; Mrs W. P. Murray, 93, 26—67; Mrs R. W. Palmer, 98, 29—69; Mrs P. Goulding, 93, 23—70. TEMPLETON LADIES’ CLUB A flag atch held in the club’s opening day yesterday was won by Mrs J. Hartnell, who took the flag to the twentieth fairway. Best scores were:— Mrs Hartnell, 96, 26—70; Mrs G. Fraser, 103, 31—72; Mrs A. Falcon, 109, 36—73; Mrs G. P. Anderson, 86, 12—74. WAIMAIRI LADIES’ CLUB The mid-week section of the Waimairi Ladies’ Club held the opening day yesterday, with a friendly match over 12 holes. The winner was Mrs Cuttance, with a score, 65, 24—41.
