The weather forecast for Canterbury,' issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological j -Office, Wellington, and dealing with the' 27 hours following the time of issue, is:— Situation: an anti-cyclone over the north Tasman Sea extends .across the North Island, and a cold front is moving over the South Island. Forecast: moderate south-west winds; coastal ' cloud and isolated showers at first, i but weather clearing; moderate tern- ' peratures. Outlook for Thursday: fair. WEST COAST The following is the forecast for the West Coast of the South Island:— Moderate to fresh westerly winds; weather cloudy; some rain at first, but i weather clearing later in day; tempera- ! tures moderate. Outlook for Thursday: ' mainly fair. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER. The day in Christchurch yesterday was fine, with a moderate wind from the. north-east. The maximum temperature' was 66.7 degrees. At midnight, the sky was clear, and a light north-west wind was blowing. The temperature was 57.8 degrees. The barometer, at 29.808 inches (1009.4 millibars), was falling unsteadily.
