Minor Fires.— Units of the Christchurch Fire Brigade answered calls to two minor fires yesterday. At 5 p.m. a call was received to a house at 208 Gordon avenue, occupied by Mr J. L. Anderson, where fat had ignited in an oven. At 5.5 p.m. the brigade attended a call to a grass fire on the railway line near Matipo street. There was no damage from either fire.
