NORTH BEACH PROPERTY
PURCHASE BY ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH Nearly 21 acres of land at Bower avenue, North Beach, which was intended for use as a motor-camp by the former owner, has been purchased by the Roman Catholic Church for diocesan purposes. The vendor was Mrs H. M. Sapio now a resident of Australia. The property has a long frontage to Bower avenue and access also to Woodgrove terrace, running off Pacific street. It adjoins North Beach Park. The main buildings on the property are a single-storey wooden residence and several large brick outbuildings. On one part, a number of motels have been practically completed. They are of from one to four rooms, and when the property was advertised for sale by auction in December it was stated that ample space for many more similar buildings remained. A prepared caravan site is oh the property, which is only a short distance from the beach, and an area is well planted with hedges, trees, shrubs, and lawns.
