A tribute to its construction is that the chassis and springs are still in first-class condition. The original 25in and 18in direct spoke, ball-bearing malleable hub wheels have not a spoke broken or dented while the solid rubber tyres, five-eighths inches thick, are undamaged.

A new look in make-up is something of an event in the fashion world. The last was the "doe-eved” look which went with a pale damask-rose complexion and pink lipstick. Now London has launched the “tiger-lily look,” toned to go with the new brown, sherry and beige shades. For this the skin must look tawny or creamy, and lipstick should have a hint of brown ih it. Charles Creed, of the "big 11,” has adopted this look for his mannequins to wear with the cinnamon, snuff and chocolate day clothes in his collection. The " apricot-coloured powders and berry-red lipsticks created for the ’‘tiger-lily look” go well with sun-tanned skins, too.
