W. D. SKELTON RIDES WINNERS OF DOUBLE.—The well-known Orari jockey, W. D. Skelton, rode the winner of both legs of the double at the Banks Peninsula Racing Club’s meeting at Motukarara on Saturday. TOP: The finish of the Peninsula Handicap, first leg, won narrowly by Valley Gold (on outside) from Entrancing. Turbulent was third. BOTTOM: Cloudy View winning the Kinloch Handicap, the second leg, from Instinctive. The three horses racing together are Spectral (outside), which finished third, Ptolemy (middle), fourth, and Resolute (on rails), which finished fifth. Skelton rode both Valley Gold and Cloudy View.
