FIREWORKS FOR THE CORONATION

Sir, —I note with dismay that fireworks operators are invited to a conference on the Coronation celebrations. Not again, surely? I was depressed for weeks after the last few thousand pounds went up in smoke. Our civilisation seems to have a fireworks fixation, but why not blow up Parliament, instead, this time?
