SCOUTS’ AND CUBS’ RALLY

Twelve troops, from as far distant nd Cheviot and Ashburton, attended the annual boy scouts’ county rally at the Pleasant Point Domain on Saturday. The welcome to the county commissioner (Sir Joseph Ward) was given by the New Brighton scouts, who performed the ’’Dominion rally" haka, and by the cube, with a "grand howl." Scouts and cubs competed in a wide variety of team events. The winning scout troop. Brighton, won the distinction of being the commissioner’s troop for the year.
