OFFICIAL FORECASTS “The Press” Special Service _ WELLINGTON, Feb. 20. The weather forecast for Canterbury, Issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 27 hours following the time of issue, is:— Situation: an anti-cyclone covers the Tasman Sea and southern and central New Zealand. Forecast: light to moderate south to south-east winds, tending north-easterly bn the coast; weather partly cloudy to cloudy; temperatures cold. Outlook for Sunday: fair. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Moderate southerly to easterly winds; weather fine; temperatures moderate. Outlook for Sunday: fine to CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch yesterday was cloudy, with a moderate south-west wind. The maximum temperafure was 59.5 degrees. At midnight, the sky was overcast an;! a light westerly wind was blowing. The temperature was 51.2 degrees. The barometer was steady at 38.254 inches (1024.5 millibars).
