CHRISTCHURCH BRANCH MEETS The monthly meeting of the Christchurch branch of the Plunket Society was held in the Plunket Rooms on Wednesday. The president (Mrs Janet Williams) presided over a large attendance. „, A y°J e ° £ thanks was passed to the Plunket Mothers’ Clubs through the president of the Mothers’ Club Council (Mrs H L. Jacobsen) for its offer to pay for the repainting of the Plunket mobile unit. Final plans were made for the bring and buy stall to be held in Cathedral square next week. Arrangements were also made to hold a jumble sale in March. The following members were elected to the newly formed organising and finance committee: Mesdames J. W. A. Rose, E. Fairclough, R. G. Wolff. G. R. p. Beadel, N. Peryer, R. O r Se T; C. Sams. L. Roberts, and C. L. Hardy. Members discussed plans for the provincial conference to be held in Christchurch in September. T'he charge sister (Miss J. Mackay) presented the following report for the month; new baby cases, 258; visits to babies in homes, 1595; visits of babies to rooms, 3267. /■nJ? 1 ® J natron of Karitane Hospital (Miss J. Horner) gave the following report for December: mothers admitted, 18; babies admitted, 31; twins admitted, 1; premature babies admitted, 11; premature babies discharged 12.
