BLACKBALL MINE IDLE
DISPUTE COINCIDES WITH MINISTER’S VISIT (From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH, February 16. Coinciding with the visit this afternoon by the Minister of Mines (Mr W. Sullivan) and the Under-Secretary for Mines (Mr C. H. Benney), the Blackball State coal mine was idle today as the result of a dispute. Details of the dispute were not available, but it is believed to be in connexion with the quarterly cavil for working places in the mine, which took place on Friday.
