MIDDLE-WEIGHT WORLD TITLE

LONDON, February 15. The promoter Jack Solomons, on his arrival in London today from America, said that Randolph Turpin would definitely fight for the vacant world middle-weight championship at the White Citv on June 9 next. Solomons said that the Americans seemed determined to have an American boxer in the championship. He was determined to put Turpin in the ring with someone for the world title on June 9, “irrespective of anything the Americans say or do.’’ Turpin’s opponent might be either Charles Humez, of France, or Bobo Olsen, of the United States, he said. “The time has come for us in Britain to start telling the Americans where they get off,” added Solomons.
