CORONATION CEREMONY
MR HOLLAND TO WALK IN PROCESSION advice Received from EARL MARSHAL {New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, January 20. The New Zealand Prime Minister (Mr Holland) will walk in the procession in Westminster Abbey when Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will be crowned on June 2. Mr Holland has received this information. from the Earl Marshal of England (the Duke of Norfolk). The .letter to the , Prime Minister from the Earl’Marshal’s office in Belgrave square, London, says: “I have’it in command from the Queen to inforrti you that Her Majesty has been graciously pleased to appoint you to walk in the procession in Westminster Abbey on the occasion of the Solemnity of Her Majesty’s Coronation on the 2nd June next. I shall not fail to transient to you later due notice and details of such rehearsals as it may be desirable for you to attend, and also such.. other information as may be necessary.” Accompanying the letter was a printed circular of several pages, setting out details of dress to be worn for the various Coronation ceremonies. Mr Holland will have the choice of four* forms of dress to wear in the Abbey procession. He will probably decide on either Court dress, as worn by Privy Counsellors, or formal evening dress. . ,
