DECORATIONS FOR K FORCE
. Sir, —I notice in today’s paper a list of decorations for service in K Force. I am rather interested in the method of selection, as I think another man, who was left out, should have been included. He was the sergeant of Medical Corps for the transport unit, which numbered 400 or more. He was responsible for the health of every man in that company. There was no doctor on whom he could call, but had to make every decision, small and large, himself. The efficiency and health of that excellent until .reflect great credit on this man. I know, as I owe my life to him. His correct diagnosis and treatment of my illness saved my life. I know he was commended several times by the Director of the Medical Corps in Korea. It is not too late to recognise this soldier’s outstanding service, even though he has since returned to New Zealand.—Yours, etc., A GRATEFUL DRIVER. January 20, 1952.
