NAVAL COURSES IN BRITAIN.
CAPTAIN PHIPPS’S ASSIGNMENT (New Zealand Prefs Association) WELLINGTON, January 20. Captain Peter Phipps, R.N.Z.N., will leave New Zealand in the Rangitiki in March to serve for two years in Britain. He will take a senior officers’ technical and tactical course. For the remainder of the time he will be on loan to the Royal Navy. Captain Phipps joined the Canterbury Division of the New Zealand Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve in 1928, and was commissioned in 1930. He had a distinguished. vAir career in small ships of the Royal New Zealand Navy, and in 1946 transferred from the volunteer reserve to the regular force.
